Computers

    One of my favorite hobbies is building, and repairing computers, including the machine I use to create this website.  I also enjoy making websites, and doing pretty much anything else creative with a computer.  My current machine is an AMD dual core beast with 2 GB of DDR ram, an Nvidia 7800 GT video card, 2 250 GB Serial ATA hard drives, a pair of 52x CD burners, a pair of 16x DVD burners, a pair of Samsung 20" wide screen LCD's, a wireless optical mouse, and Soundblaster Audigy 2 zs sound card, Altec Lanzing speakers, and a few other bells and whistles, and is protected by a CyberPower UPS.

    I also have a second machine which my mother, my wife, and the kids use.  That box has an Athlon 1 GHz chip, 1.5 GB PC 133, an Nvidia 128 MB graphics card, Creative Sound Blaster Live audio, and dual monitors.  It also has Altec Lansing speakers, a 120 GB hard drive, dual CD burners, DVD burner, and a DVD reader, and is protected by an APC UPS.

    In addition to these two custom made desktop machines, I have an HP laptop which I use when I am away from home, and as a back up in case my main machine is down.

    All of my machines share an Optimum Online cable connection, with Boost.  It provides us with 30 Mbit / sec download speeds, and 5 Mb / sec upload speeds, as well as the ability to host email, web, and game servers at home.  All of my traffic goes through a Linksys broadband router / switch / wireless / firewall.
